This blog has evolved into a series of news commentaries, with a marked interest on topics that fascinate me: politics, the economic crisis, technology, music and marketing. The past few months had mostly prompted me to think and write about politics. However, the global economic crisis and the arrival of the new team in Washington DC have also resulted in a sense of renewal, controlled urgency and has intensified communications, as most people are forced to reconsider many of the assumptions that have constructed their lives.

Not just an “out with the old” attitude, but a form of positive skepticism is taking over the world, as we all watch the crisis unfold and, with modern communications, can also monitor the real time effects of our leaders’ solutions, as they are applied to, hopefully, soften the downturn and ultimately reverse the collapse of the global economy.  The publishing industry is particularly affected by this crisis and is actively engaged in the process of reinventing itself. This feeling of crossroads is exciting and also empowering because the directions we will soon adopt will have far reaching consequences into the very core of our world’s civilizations.
